SANGAMON VALLEY CHAPTER

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THESE IMPORTANT DATES

The Mid America Council Leadership Training will be held in Rockford, Illinois on April 17th, 2009.  We are busily working on lining up speakers and sessions for that day and will get the details to you by January.  But in the meantime, please mark this date on your calendars as we hope to have some interesting sessions for everyone.

It is highly recommended for all chapter officers to attend these sessions.  We typically have sessions on the various board positions as well as many other CPE opportunities.

TO:  All Sangamon Valley Chapter of IMA Members

It has been reported that since President Obama has taken office, volunteerism has increased.  That is great news for our country.  While our chapter is not on the scale of some very worthy charities, we still need the involvement of our members.

In the past, with the involvement of many members in the chapter, the Sangamon Valley Chapter of IMA became an award winning chapter.  To obtain this honor, it took the involvement of more than just a few.  Your current board is now asking for your involvement.

The Board of Directors is facing a month end (March 31, 2009) deadline to submit a list of board members for the upcoming 2009-2010 year.  Various positions are available.  If you have an interest in becoming involved, please contact me.  We can find a position to fit your interests.

Let’s face it, without an active and involved board, the chapter is nothing. And without the involvement of our members, the chapter may have no choice but to dissolve.

If you have any interest in filling a board position or ideas to make the chapter better, please contact myself or one of the current board members.  Please get involved.

Connie Lusietto

President, Sangamon Valley Chapter of IMA

Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed, or are you just content that your name is on the list?

Do you attend the meetings and mingle with the flock, or do you meet in private and criticize and knock?

Do you take an active part to help the work along, or are you satisfied to be the kind who just belongs?

Do you work on committees – to this there is no trick – or leave the work to just a few and talk about the clique?

So come to meetings often and help with hand and heart, don’t be just a member but take an active part.

Think this over members, you know what is right and wrong.  Are you an active member, OR DO YOU JUST BELONG?
